Shannons Historic Racing & Classic Car Festival Entries Now Open!

It has been sixteen years since HRCC has run a race meeting at Queensland Raceway and now with a Motorsport Australia permitted track we couldn’t resist the opportunity to try out the new facilities so make sure to tell your friends.

The event is open to all Historic 5th Category race cars and invited cars offering Circuit Racing, Super Sprints (Historic Sports Sedans only) and Regularity Trials all as noted in the Supplementary Regulations.

This is a 3 day weekend Event.

Practice is on Friday 14 July from 8-30am to 12.00pm and can be prepaid with entry.

Qualifying is on Friday 14 July from 1.00pm to 4.30pm

Racing, Super Sprints & Regularity Trials is on Saturday & Sunday times to be advised.

General Admission tickets for Spectators: Friday – Free, Saturday – $20, Sunday – $30, Weekend Pass – $40, Kids under 15 years – Free.

Shannons Show & Shine on Sunday: Entry is $20 per car with driver and up to 3 passengers.

Entries close Friday 30 June 2023. All payments must be received by the 7 July 2023.                                         

Late entries must contact the Event Secretary, before going online to enter as the Event Entry Online may not be open.

NO ENTRY TO QUEENSLAND RACEWAY PRIOR TO 1.30PM THURSDAY 13 JULY 2023.

Carport and Garage Hire:  Can be hired online with your entry, through Motorsport Australia Online Entry.

Carports on Pit Lane > 29 off – 9.6 x 5.0m, No Power. $170.

Garages in 2 tin sheds > 44 off – 8.0 x 4.0m. Power available. $235.

(If you and another competitor hire a Garage each = total of 2 and request them in line East to West the area would be 16.0m x 4.0m maybe enough room for 3 small to medium cars with front & rear entry.)  It is up to the hirer to establish what will fit.

NOTE: Parking for tender vehicle and trailers may be some distance from the Carports and Garages.

The first 50% booked will be allocated in order of entering. The final 50% of Carport & Garages, preference will be given to low and slick tyre, open wheel and sports racing cars, also maybe a nominated Race Group/s.

This will not apply to late entries or payment after the 30 June 2023.

All trailers to be parked outside in the carpark beside the eastern fence line. If the trailer is a necessary, part of the Pit equipment then you will need an oversize Pit Bay or parking area.

Tender vehicles will be issued with a parking sticker, all other vehicles to be parked in the outside carpark.

Paddock Pit Area will be marked out to standard Pit Area 10m x 5m. If you need more area than this, you MUST contact 0424 321 072. Discuss your needs and a Pit Bay will be allocate to you. Refer Supplementary Regulations Clause 26 a to j.

MyLaps is the timing system used. Transponders are to be hired from Qld Raceways $30.

If you have a MyLaps Transponder, supply the transponder serial number with your entry.         

Fuel: TBA

Fire Extinguisher: Competitor must provide at least 1 certified and fully functional 4.5kg fire extinguisher in each of their Pit Garage or paddock area Pit Bay.

Meet & Greet: will be held on Friday 14 July from 5.00pm to 7.30pm. All Entrants, Pit crew and interstate competitors plus Motorsport Australia Officials and Marshalls are invited to the Corporate Room at Queensland Raceway. Cash bar with hot platters served from 5.20pm.
